Ike Richman Communications handled all communications for the closing of the Spectrum, the legendary arena in Philadelphia. During the final year of the Spectrum, Richman handled communications for six Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band shows. During those shows, Richman orchestrated a tribute on stage by Springsteen to the famous Philadelphia Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas who passed away two weeks before Springsteen’s shows at the Spectrum. The tribute was well received and included in several books written about Kalas. Also, Richman coordinated Springsteen’s surprise appearance on stage with U2 at the Wells Fargo Center in 2005 by escorting him from his seats in the arena, backstage to the stage while keeping it confidential to further surprise the fans inside the arena. Richman also created the “Springsteen Hits for the Cycle in Philadelphia” when Springsteen performed at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, completing a run of performing at every live venue in the City.
Richman Communications also submitted two Bruce Springsteen shows in 1999 in Philadelphia to the Guinness Book of World Records for the shortest distance traveled between shows (758-feet, nine-and-a-half inches) between the Spectrum and Wells Fargo Center. While the record did not stand, the coverage featured in Rolling Stone Magazine was sensational.
